for the iOS App KumaWatch
The data controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other national data protection laws is:
KumaWatch is a companion app for self-hosted Uptime Kuma monitoring servers. It allows users to view and monitor the status of their own servers. The app operates as a direct client and establishes an unmediated connection between the user's mobile device and the server endpoints configured by the user.
The protection of your personal data is a top priority. This Privacy Policy details how data is handled and processed by the app.
KumaWatch stores the following credentials and connection settings exclusively locally on your device within the secure iOS Keychain (hardware enclave):
No transmission to developer servers: These credentials are used solely to authenticate your device directly with your specified Uptime Kuma instance. The developer never receives, stores, or evaluates this data.
When running KumaWatch, network requests occur strictly between your mobile device and your configured Uptime Kuma server endpoints. The payload transferred includes server response times, uptime statuses, and incident logs retrieved directly from your server.
We recommend enabling TLS/HTTPS on your Uptime Kuma instances to ensure end-to-end encrypted transport.
KumaWatch contains no third-party tracking SDKs, no analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or Firebase), and no advertising frameworks. We respect your complete privacy.
The app is downloaded via Apple's App Store. When downloading or updating the app, Apple processes data under its own privacy policy. You can review Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to request access to, rectification, or deletion of any personal data, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory data protection authority.
